My “Post-Polaroid” SX-70 Model 2
I had a Polaroid SX-70 Model 2 that was in decent working condition but the faux leather covering had begun to disintegrate quite badly. I took several dozen old stamps from a collection I bought ranging from the 1880s – 1970s and I made a full-page panel collage of the stamps, some cut out to make interesting interactions. I used a glossy spray laquer in several layers over 2 days and let it dry over night. Then I cut my SX-70 Cover Template out of that page. – Getting the original covering and adhesive off took quite a few hours and was very messy, but I think it turned out ok and I can be sure it’s a one-of-a-kind!
here’s what it looked like before:
looks a little bit better now huh?
